We only use an aerospace and marine grade aluminum alloy that will not rust and is highly resistant to corrosion. It holds up better in coastal areas and in areas where roads are salted for snow.

Stainless steel scratches easily and if you want the scratches to be gone, you will need to sand, re-grain, and buff them out. Aluminum will resist scratches and, believe it or not, resist dents better. We’ve tested it. Aluminum has a superior shape memory and will bounce back better after an impact.

We all know stainless steel will stain and discolor. It takes a lot of time, maintenance, and stainless steel cleaner to keep it looking good and if you don’t do it right, you can make it look worse. Aluminum doesn’t have that problem and it’s much easier to cover with protective coatings. We found that finishes do not adhere well to stainless steel. The standard powder coat and anti-graffiti clear coat on every Kingsley outdoor unit make them much easier to maintain with the occasional wash, just like you would a car.
